ALL ABOUT ATS IN PUBLIC SAFETY

Public safety employees work in Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue and Emergency Medical Services. These first responders protect the public from any significant threat and/or harm. 


ATs in Public Safety emphasizes utilizing athletic trainers in the care of employees, reduction of medical costs, reduced lost work-hours, reduced lost wages utilizing proven, evidence-based fundamentals of sports medicine.  First responder injury not only affects the officer's job it also has ramifications for his personal and family interactions.

Concussion:  As recognized experts in the assessment and management of concussion, ATs can develop and administer a concussion program model for your agency/academy.  Train employees, support staff, supervisors, instructors techniques to recognize mild traumatic brain injury.  Develop appropriate care plan for the employee.
